Conceptual design of a large animatronic set for an avant-garde opera produced out of the MIT Media Lab. This project required a highly integrated amalgamation of conceptual graphics, 3D modeling, physical computing, custom fabrication, circuit design, embedded systems programming, and interactive robotics.
Recent professional work in design visualization, 3D CAD modeling, film, and animation. Directed a large studio of 48 designers, artists, 3D modelers, and visualization professionals to produce high-end products for clients world wide.
Developed a software application for architects and designers which interprets and translates any audio input into a usable CAD geometry for 3D manipulation and modeling. This software has been applied in developing building design and form-finding as well as academic research.
Was intensely involved with this project as an architect through the design phases, and as a computational design specialist and researcher throughout the entire project and its construction.
Created custom software to help develop the design as well as specify the construction and fabrication of the building. Particular focus and concentrated effort was given to the challenging design of the unique "Roof Sculpture" which is integrated with the overall building design.
Researched and developed special methods to approach the particularly challenging and difficult problem of specifying the design of the highly sculptural Rose Fountain for construction.
Engaged the Disney Concert Hall project as a prototype to research and develop standard practices for coordinating, organizing, and modeling large scale building projects.
Completed Design Development as a core team architect. Played a substantial role in developing the continuing office-wide practice of integrating conventional methodologies with pioneering computational approaches to realize buildable design.
Facilitated the development and refinement of the architectural design through the creation and application of custom software to solve complex design issues.
Was solely responsible for developing the entire 3D CAD delivery model of the stadium adaptive reuse addition. Directed a team of engineers in producing detailed system component design from the model geometry.
